Mrs. Kimberly Stiffel
Hello! My name is Kimberly Stiffel and this is my 10th year at Cox Mill Elementary, and my 19th year as a school counselor in Cabarrus County Schools. I am thrilled to be working in such a wonderful school and a positive school community! I graduated from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-8) in 1997 and a Master's Degree in School Counseling (K-12) in 2001. Prior to working as a school counselor, I was a 7th grade Language Arts teacher and a 5th grade teacher. I also earned my National Board certification in 2005.
I currently serve students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. This year I will be teaching our SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) lessons during the students' Guidance encore class. I will be seeing classes every other week. Topics and themes will be shared on my website and updated each month.
In addition to teaching classroom lessons, I am also available for individual and small group counseling. Our student support staff work on a short-term basis to address any emotional, personal/social, and/or academic concerns. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child's academic and/or emotional development.
