MPMS has been my home for the last 8 years. I am entering my 6th year as EC Chair. It is also my pleasure to be in my 5th year as co-advisor for Mt. Pleasant's Student Council.
This is my 16th year of teaching, 5 years in California at the high school level and the last 10 years here in North Carolina, all of which have been done in the EC/Special Education field.
I hold a Master's of Arts degree in Special Education (Chapman University, Ca), a Post-Master's Certificate in School Administration (UNC-Greensboro and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology (California State University, Hayward, Ca), as well as being highly qualified in middle school ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies.
I am a wife (27 years) and mother (2 sons, 26 and 21 years old), and believe that family is of the utmost importance. I also believe that family is not only those related by blood or marriage. Family refers to anyone who contributes to the well-being of an individual; whether that is financial, emotional or physical support. Teachers very often fall into the 'family' category, which has lead to many life-long friendships.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding EC issues or services, feel free to email me and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
