Bonjour! My name is Tara Furr, or to my students, Madame.
I began my teaching career 23 years ago in neighboring Stanly County. This year it is a privilege to be in my 13th year teaching in Tiger Territory! As a former graduate of the “old” MPHS, I'm a true tiger at heart!
I first fell in love with the French language in high school. It was then that I took my first trip abroad to explore the country that I’d learned to love. While pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in French at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte I participated in an exchange program to the University of Limoges in Limoges, France. I have led several student tours throughout France, most recently in July ’16. I am potentially looking at another student trip for the summer of '21.
Away from school, I spend most of my time with my family - my husband and 2 sons! Together we enjoy the great outdoors (hunting, fishing, swimming, gardening & playing ball), spending time with family & friends, and participating in church & community activities.
I am looking forward to a great semester! Allons, tigres! (Let's go, Tigers!) Vive les tigres! (Long live the Tigers!)
