Degrees and Certifications:
Hello Rocket Family!
My name is Kim Hines. I am truly thrilled to be your child's ELA teacher! I love being a part of the Middle School Team at Royal Oaks Elementary School of the Arts, along with Mrs. Ball, Mrs. Stokes and Ms. Whetmore.
I recieved my Elementary Education degree from SLU (Southeastern Louisiana University) in Hammond, LA and have taught for 27 years. I previously taught 7th and 8th grade ELA in Louisiana for 7 years, 4th grade for 13 years in North Carolina, as well as, grades 2nd and 3rd in Virginia. I also completed GLEE certification to work with AIG students. GLEE promotes basic understanding of emotional, social needs of gifted students. As well as the implementation of differentiated content and strategies for advanced learners. I look forward to a year of watching students grow as readers/learners/thinkers.
Please feel free to reach out to me via email.
