I am a native of Cabarrus County.  I grew up and currently live in Harrisburg, NC.  I attended Harrisburg Elementary, Hartsell Middle, and Central Cabarrus High School.  I worked in healthcare for 13 years before deciding to pursue a degree in Education.  I attended Western Carolina University (go Catamounts!).  I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. I have been teaching at Rocky River Elementary for 18 years.  I taught 5th grade for 6 years, 3rd grade for 3 years,  Kindergarten for 2 years, and looped up with my Kindergarten class and taught first grade for 1 year.  I taught fourth grade for one year before coming to second grade.  This is my sixth year teaching second grade.  I am very excited about this year.  I will have a student teacher from UNCC in my clasroom this first semester of the year. Her name is Haley Keene.   I am married and have a fifteen year old daughter that attends Hickory Ridge High School.
