Mrs. Emily Pleasants

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to my class website! My hopes is that this site will be a useful tool to your study of history this school year. Refer to this page frequently for deadlines, useful links, documents, and updates. Together we can make this a successful year!

Originally from Tennessee, I moved to North Carolina in 1993. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2003 as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Teacher Education. I am an "Original Bull", having taught at Hickory Ridge since 2007,our inaugural year. Now in my 17th year teaching in Cabarrus County, I proudly serve Hickory Ridge High School as Social Studies department chair.

I'm committed to quality instruction tailored to the needs of our students. I have high expectations for my students in both character and academics. Always give your best effort on all assignments and activities. Take every opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve. I encourage you to see me after class or school if you feel that you are falling behind or “in over your head.” We will work together to see that you succeed! Open communication will be key to our success. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email if you have any questions or concerns. I am available during 1st period as well as before and after school.

I look forward to a great school year together!

In Raging Bull Pride,
Mrs. Emily Pleasants
