I am ready to begin another fantastic year teaching first grade!! My classroom is ready to have students come and have fun learning.
Let's enjoy this first grade year together. I believe my classroom parents and myself are a team that work together in loving, nurturing, and educating our children. Seeing them learn and grow is so rewarding.
Snapshot about me:
*Married to Joel for 44 wonderful years
*Have 3 daughters
*Enjoying 7 grandchildren
*This will be my 30th year of teaching elementary: fifth, fourth, third, first, and kindergarten
*I have been teaching at Odell for 12 years, began as the school's intervention specialist for 2 years
*I have my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree for Integration of the Arts in Curriculum
*I absolutely love teaching children and creating a classroom experience with high expectations and hands on learning.
Reading is the most important foundation in the primary grades. I would suggest oral reading every night for at least 10 -20 minutes. This will improve their comprehension and fluency.
During virtual teaching, homework will reallyv be their independent classwork given each day through my teaching. I will be grading their work each week.
