I was born in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil and came to the United States in 2006 as a part of the VIF (Visiting International
Faculty) Program. I have been teaching at CCS and at Winecoff elementary School for 12 years now. Previously, I was the EFL
(English as a Foreign Language Teacher), Assistant Principal, Recreational activities, Teacher Trainer, and head of the Homestay Program when I traveled with my students to other countries for homestay programs. I had several other responsibilities as well. I hold a Master's Degree in International Education from Chichester University, U.K. and graduated from Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciencias e Letras de Bebedouro, SP, Brazil. I have been in several Courses to develop my knowledge and teaching skills, the most important ones being St. Giles College, U.K. and Mills College, CA, USA and Associacao Alumini, Brazil. I have a double major in Languages and Literature.
At Winecoff Elementary School, I have worked as the ESL teacher, translator, interpreter and tutor. I am a students' advocate and I created the Book Club for Moms and the English Course for Moms. I have free English classes for Moms every Monday and Wednesday from 2:45-3:45. I am absolutely passionate about Education. In Brazil, Education is the only way out of poverty. I love traveling to other countries and learning about the culture and history of places. I am the oldest child in my family (the dependable one:). I have two brothers and one sister. My whole family is in Brazil. I am married to Mr. Jason Brown and we have a son. He is 6 years old. He is gray, he has 2 beautiful green eyes, pointed ears, whiskers and a tail. His name is Smokey :). I am an animal, children and elderly advocate. Some of my hobbies include: cooking and baking, singing and playing the guitar, cooking and baking, crafts, entertaining, reading, writing (I write children's stories), spending time with family and friends.
