Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Crysten Harwood, Exceptional Children
This is my 16th year teaching and I am starting my 6th full year teaching at MPES. I have been teaching in the Exceptional Children’s program for 14 years in the Resource setting and this will be my second year teaching in the IMPACT classroom. I am thrilled to be working with your student this year!
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education at Pfeiffer University. I have had many wonderful opportunities to teach, which include hosting Student Teachers from the University of NC at Charlotte, holding the Exceptional Children’s Chair position, and being named Teacher of the Year, here at Mount Pleasant Elementary School.
I married my best friend Jereme in May, 2003 and we are blessed with two boys, Maddox and Landon. Maddox is a 9th grader at MPHS and Landon is a 4th grader at MPES. I love to spend time with my family, travel, eat, go to the beach, watch my boys play baseball, read on my porch with a big cup of coffee, and workout.
I know this school year may look very different and is a new experience for us all, but I look forward to the journey with your student and working with you as a team to help make this school year a success!
