Hi! Welcome to Hickory Ridge Elementary and Second Grade! I am super excited to be working with your child this year! This will be my 25th year of teaching. I am a graduate of Appalachian State and UNC-Charlotte, with a BS in Business Administration and BA in K-6 Elementary Education respectively. I've taught Pre-Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades, but I must admit my heart has always been in Second Grade.
I have been married 28 years to my wonderful husband, Todd, and we have two awesome children. Michael is a sophomore at NC State, and Ellie is a sophomore at Hickory Ridge High School. My free time is spent mostly with my family. I love fire pits, football, board games, reading, and floating in the pool.
Communication will play an integral part in helping your child be successful this year. I hope that you will feel comfortable sharing your ideas, questions, and concerns with me. Together we will give your child the BEST second grade experience possible. It is important to me that your child looks forward to school each day and enjoys learning, setting new goals, and persevering through challenges. We're going to have a wonderful year! Go Cowboys!
