Parents and students,Welcome to Mr. Kozloff's Webpage!Welcome back after Spring Break! This week we continue Unit 10 and Geometry, including area, perimeter, and volume of prisms. We have one ore worksheet for prisms and volume, then we will review and check knowledge. This week we have our work cut our for us as we initiate many students back into the classroom, so please be patient and parents, if you would, encourage your student to stay up-to-date on all assignments, as Spring Break-itis has set in for many students. The year is not over!!We also will take the make-up test for the 3rd Benchmark series of Math and E/LA tests if needed, for the first two hours of classes ONLY for those students who missed 2 weeks ago. Students who are fully virtual have codes sent through their school e-mail to complete testing, all in person learners will take during class. We will also as we do weekly, continue with students learning 10 topics in ALEKS. Spring Break students do not have to complete ALEKS topics.Once again, all grades can be found in PowerSchool, which is the grading system used by Cabarrus County. Canvas is a learning management tool used for daily lessons, and NOT for all grades to be posted. Please check PowerSchool for all graded assignments, as not all assignments are embedded in Canvas. Please remind students that they are responsible for 10 topics in ALEKS every week, Monday thru Sunday. I will go over this expectation at minimum 3x this week and every week as this is a weekly graded assignment on the ALEKS program. It is also listed as an assignment weekly.Additional links are given on the tab marked "Useful Links" and try Khan Academy, Sal Khan is awesome at explaining math concepts.Scott Kozloffph: 704-260-6490Mavericks take C.A.R.E. of Mavericks!!

Welcome to Mr. Kozloff's Class of 2020-2021
I am very excited to have your students in my math class this year. I am an extremely happily married man to my wife Charlene; we have three "perfect" children (ha-ha) named Elle (25, graduate of UNCC Art/Education, teacher at Druid Hills Academy in Charlotte), Simon (22, University of SC Columbia), and Alex (16, Cox Mill HS), Nemo (10 lbs.) and yes, a Maltese, not a fish, and Lenelle, our 30 lb. Basenji. All three children are/were avid soccer fans and club/college players. We have lived in Concord for seventeen years and love Cabarrus County.
I believe that every child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a classroom/virtual leaning center that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites sharing of ideas.
Please feel free to contact me with anything you may need and I look forward to working with your family and your student this year.
