Today's Message

  • Parents and students,

    Welcome to Mr. Kozloff's Webpage!

First week of the second quarter starts today!! :)

We WILL have regular live lessons this week Monday thru Thursday as we will be focusing on students in class and remote students. There will be lessons posted in Canvas dailyas usual. We will have a test on Ratio and Proportions Unit on Wednesday and Thursday. Study guide was listed in Canvas Friday and we will go over in class Monday and Tuesday, also students can see correct answers in the Google Form after competion of the Study Guide.

Again, all grades can be found in PowerSchool, which is the grading system used by Cabarrus County. Canvas is a learning management tool used for daily lessons, and NOT for all grades to be posted. Please check PowerSchool for all graded assignments, as not all assignments are embedded in Canvas. Be aware that because the County has allowed late grades, I cannot post a grade until AT LEAST 5 days after the completion date, after which it can be deemed LATE.

Please remind students that they are responsible for 10 topics in ALEKS every week, Monday thru Sunday. I will go over this expectation at minimum 3x this week and every week as this is a weekly graded assignment on the ALEKS program.

Please remind students to watch my videos on this website and that will help with these new concepts, as well as additional links given also on the tab marked "Useful Links" and try Khan Academy, Sal Khan is awesome at explaining math concepts.

Welcome to Mr. Kozloff's Class of 2020-2021

I am very excited to have your students in my math class this year. I am an extremely happily married man to my wife Charlene; we have three "perfect" children (ha-ha) named Elle (25, graduate of UNCC Art/Education, teacher at Druid Hills Academy in Charlotte), Simon (22, University of SC Columbia), and Alex (16, Cox Mill HS), Nemo (10 lbs.) and yes, a Maltese, not a fish, and Lenelle, our 30 lb. Basenji. All three children are/were avid soccer fans and club/college players. We have lived in Concord for seventeen years and love Cabarrus County.

I believe that every child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a classroom/virtual leaning center that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites sharing of ideas.

Please feel free to contact me with anything you may need and I look forward to working with your family and your student this year.
