Welcome parents and students to 7th grade Mathematics! This is my 11th year teaching in Cabarrus County, and I am excited to work with such dedicated teachers and students as part of the Maverick family.
As a graduate of Douglass College, Rutgers University with a B.S. in Accounting, I worked in accounting and finance while living in New Jersey. After relocating to North Carolina, I decided to switch career paths and attained a graduate teaching certificate in Middle School Mathematics at UNCC. I now aspire to make a positive impact on the lives of our future leaders - my students!
This year, my husband and I celebrated 33 years of marriage. We have a son, two daughters, and a dog named Charlie. Some things that I like to do in my spare time are of a musical nature, as I am an organist and choir member in our church. I also lead a church small group meeting on a weekly basis.
My favorite phrase is "Never give up!" Some of my goals are: Connecting the 7th grade Math standards to real-world scenarios and experiences, helping students become effective problem-solvers, and making Mathematics exciting and relateable for every student. A positive attitude and earnest effort from each student will help make their 7th Grade year a rewarding and successful one!
