Mr. Jason Hutchins

Hello, and welcome to Mr. Hutchins PE class. I grew up in Cabarrus County, and went K-12 through Cabarrus County Schools. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a K-12 degree in Physical Education and I also received my Masters from UNC Charlotte. My wife, Mindy Hutchins, also teaches in Cabarrus County schools. We have 2 daughters enrolled in Cabarrus County Schools.

I truly love and live the subject I teach, and hope to give some of that passion to kids so that they are interested in some form of physical activity that keeps them healthy throughout their lives.  Students will be awarded 5 points daily for dressing out into navy blue or grey shorts, grey or navy blue T-shirts, and tennis shoes (flip flops or boots of any kind will not be allowed on the court). Students will also be awarded 5 points on a daily basis for active participation and following all class rules and teacher expectations. Our classes are based on learning skills to multiple sports and activities. We use these skills to play tournaments throughout the year. The students play an active role in refereeing and running the tournament games. Our main goal is to have our students find an activity or sport they like to promote lifelong physical activity and health.

Units for PE include 3 vs 3 Basketball, Volleyball, Battleball, Fitness Testing, Soccer, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, and Cooperative Games. Students will be exercising and having a fun time while doing it.

The above Units are for when we are back in the school building. For all current assignments, check us out in Canvas.
