Mrs. Elissa Kleban
Greetings Parents and Students! This year marks my 24th year of teaching and my 12th year as a Maverick. I am a native North Carolinian and grew up in a very small town in Wilkes County. I graduated from Appalachian State University (Go Apps!!) and UNC-Charlotte (Go Niners!!). I have two boys, one is a sophomore at Appalachian State and one is a fifth grader. I enjoy traveling, spending time together as a family, and reading. It's great to be a Maverick!

Homework and Assignments
-
For those who are absent more than one day due to illness or quarantine:-I will post the daily lesson in Canvas in the evening, after school. Students can work on it the next day. Anything missed during their time at home can also be made up in school once they return.Note about Canvas:-Canvas will continue to be utilized for some, but not all assignments. Students who are absent can check for assignments in Canvas and complete what is posted there. Other missing work can be made up once the student returns to class.Late work policy
Assignments that are turned in late (5 days after due date) will now have points subtracted from the grade. If the assignment is turned in/submitted 5 days after the due date, 5 points will be subtracted from the grade. This will happen for each 5 days an assignment is late. An assignment that is 10 days late will have 10 points subtracted from the final score. This information is in the Student Handbook.
