    The mission of Career & Technical Education (CTE) at Central Cabarrus High School is to help empower students for effective participation in an international economy as world-class citizens.  





    CTE fulfills this mission by:

    • Preparing students for postsecondary education in career-technical fields and life long learning.

    • Preparing students for initial and continued employment.

    • Assisting students for initial and continued career decisions.

    • Applying and reinforcing related learning from other disciplines. 

    • Assisting students in developing decision-making, communication, problem solving, leadership and citizenship skills.

    • Preparing students to make informed consumer decisions and apply practical life skills.

    • Making appropriate provisions for students with special needs to succeed in career & technical education programs.


    Central Cabarrus offers competency-based courses in seventeen career pathways within seven program areas, with each area having school-based, work-based or community-based learning opportunities:

2020-21 Message from CTE Coordinator




    Dear Viking Nation & Friends, 

    On the behalf of our CTE Director and School level administrators, welcome to the Central Cabarrus CTE Program Website for the 2020-21 school year.  Our goal is to provide your child with a rewarding experience even during this unprecedented COVID-19 Pandemic. This is Viking Nation and we are proud of our state recognized CTE Program.  Over the past three years, CTE staff & students have garnered the following local/state/national level recognitions and honors (to include but not limited to):

    • 2018-19 NC Southwest Region Career Guidance Professional of the Year

    • 2018-19 NC Trades & Industrial Teacher of the Year

    • 2019-20 NC Career Gudiance Professional of the Year

    • 2019-20 NC Everlene Davis Family and Consumer Science Teaching Award

    • 2019-20 NC STEM School of Distinction 

    • 2019-20 NC DECA Student Vice President

    • 2019-20 NC Technology Student Organization Reporter 

    • 2019-20 Cabarrus County Education Foundation Grant Receipent (2 Funded)

    • 2020 White-Reinhard Agriculture Foundation National Grant Receipient 

    As CTE Coordinator, my areas of program responsiblity includes the following:  

    • Feeder Zone Level CTE Curriculum & Instructional Management

    • Feeder Zone Level CTE Business Partnerships 

    • Feeder Zone Level CTE Testing and Accountability 

    • Feeder Zone Level Federal Perkins Program Compliance

    • Feeder Zone Level CTE Program Improvement and Evaluation 

    • Feeder Zone Level Comprehensive Career Development 


    We are excited to kick off the 2020-21 school year by offering at CC Griffin Middle school, the following "new" cluster areas:

    • Family & Consumer Science Education

    • Technology Education

    • Agriculture Education

    • Business, Finance & Marketing Education


    The middle school clusters will feed into Central Cabarrus High School 17 "newly improved" career pathways. We have worked this summer to update instructional equipment in our Culinary, STEM, Drafting and Robotics Labs.  I look forward to students and teachers participating in experiential learning activities such as our STEM2Fork cross-curricular project and many others.
