Degrees and Certifications:

Kerri Gonzalez

Mrs. Kerri Gonzalez

I am one of two ESL (English as a Second Language) specialists at West Cabarrus High School.  Before becoming an ESL educator, many years ago, I began my career as a Spanish  teacher. All of my degrees came from The Ohio State University.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and another in Spanish, a  Masters in Foreign Language Education and another in School Administration.

My career has been long and rewarding.  Classes I have taught include:  Spanish levels 1-5, high school and middle school Spanish (including classes for native speakers), ESL at both middle and high school levels, American & World History, and Civics.  For nine years, I also served as a lead ESL teacher where I worked at the district level for Columbus City Schools in Ohio.

My husband, Carlos (who is from Mexico), my 12 year old son, Charlie  and I moved to North Carolina from Ohio almost 5 years ago.  We speak Spanish and English at home (except for the dog; he only barks).  I look forward to getting to know all of you!
