Close Contact Guidance
If your child has been exposed (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more) to someone who has been confirmed to be COIVD-positive then your child is considered to be a “close contact.”
Close contacts are required to remain home for 5 days from the time of exposure. They are eligible to return to school on day 6 but must wear a mask through the 10th day from exposure.
Students who are fully vaccinated or who have had COVID in the last 90 days as listed in the Quarantine Guidelines above are not required to be out of school, but parents should monitor for symptoms of COVID. In addition, students and staff who agree to engage in the ABC Science Collaborative’s “Test to Stay” program are not required to quarantine as long as they follow the testing and masking requirements of participating in this project.
Exposed students and staff (those within 6 feet of a COVID positive person for a period of 15 minutes during a 24 hour period) who are unable to wear will be required to quarantine for 14 days from the time of exposure.
Parents of vaccinated students are invited to submit a copy of their vaccination card to their school nurse to eliminate quarantining. Parents can also submit a copy of a verifiable medical diagnosis of COVID within the last 90 days to their school nurse to eliminate quarantining.
