Welcome to Winecoff Elementary! 

My name is Amanda Pollard and I teach English as a Second Language here at Winecoff Elementary.

I have been teaching English as a Second Language to students of all ages for many years.  I received my degree in elementary education from Appalachian State University, and later my certificate to teach English as a Second Language.  I love teaching ESL because I enjoy helping students learn a new language and adapt to a new culture.  I also enjoy learning from my students about their languages, cultures and traditions. I have four children ages12 through 20.  I enjoy reading, running, and spending time in the mountains with my family and my sweet dog Maya.

Mi nombre es Amanda Pollard y enseño Inglés como Segunda Lengua aquí en la Escuela Primaria Winecoff.

He estado enseñando Inglés como Segundo Idioma a estudiantes de todas las edades, durante muchos años. Recibí mi título en educación primaria de la Universidad Estatal de los Apalaches, y luego obtuve mi certificado para enseñar Inglés como Segunda Lengua. Me encanta enseñar ESL porque disfruto ayudar a los estudiantes a aprender un nuevo idioma y a adaptarse a una nueva cultura. También disfruto aprender de mis alumnos acerca de sus idiomas, sus culturas y sus tradiciones. Tengo cuatro hijos, entre 12 a 20 años. Disfruto leer, correr y pasar tiempo en las montañas con mi familia y con mi dulce perrita Maya.
