Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Taylor Gartman

Hello Knights! My name is Ms. Gartman, I teach 6-8th grade art at J.N. Fries Magnet School.  I have recently graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Art Education and minor in Art Histories. I completed my student teaching at South Central High School and Greene County Intermediate School. Though my student teaching was at the elementary and high school levels, I have two years experience of teaching after school art classes with middle school students in Chapel Hill, NC. In my journey to become an art teacher, I have tampered in all mediums so I do not limit myself to a sole art form in my personal work. Recently I enjoy creating mixed media painting that incorporate paint, ink, and pressed flowers.

In my free time I love to visit friends and family, watch tv, sit on my porch and paint away!

I'm excited for the upcoming 2021-22 school year, working together to create outstanding artwork. See you soon!
