Ms. Erica Battle
Hello! I am so excited to be with WM Irvin this school year as the kindergarten through second grade counselor! I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2016 with a degree in Psychology and from Liberty University with a Masters in School Counseling in May of 2020. This will be my first year as a school counselor but, with me, I bring a little over three years of experience. I did volunteer work for children who have experienced trauma, interned in a private practice where I focused on Dialectal Behavioral Therapy techniques for supporting youth experiencing anxiety and depression, and also interning in both elementary and middle school settings. As the counselor, it is my goal to get to know all of my students in order to support their social and emotional needs while also being an advocate for them.
I grew up in a military family that allowed me to travel to different parts of the globe, however, North Carolina has been my home since 2012. I love hiking, sports, painting, and watching movies with my little chihuahua named Joi!
