Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Latoya Terry

My name is Latoya Terry, and I serve as the MTSS Coordinator at West Cabarrus. I grew up in Charlotte, NC and attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools from Pre-K-12th grade. I received a bacherlor's degree in Elementary Education and Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I received a master's degree in Reading Education K-12 and a graduate certificate in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I also received National Board Certification.

I have always felt that being an educator is one of the most important and rewarding jobs in the world. I served as a classroom teacher for nine years in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system. I have also served as an academic facilitator, reading coach, and dean of students. I'm thrilled to serve the Wolverine family and support students, teachers, and families with the MTSS process.

In my role, I specifically organize tutoring for students, directly support them with study skills, and provide them with plans to facilitate academic success. Please reach out if you would like extra support.
