Mrs. Christina Thomas
Christina Thomas is a art educator and a professional artist. She is now teaching at West Cabarrus High School. Her teaching is based on research and finding influences from cultural diversity and personal experiences. Most of her lessons includes expression and conceptual framework. She is also best known for her oil paintings that explore the human vs. animal relationship. Brief concept of her work: Animals are captured in an environment that includes artificial elements, and there are suggestions of the human interaction with those animals. Thomas has exhibited throughout the Charlotte area, which include two juried shows at UNCC; also Center City, Charlotte; Juried Show, CPCC; Sanskrit, UNCC; and also a publication in Sanskrit, 2014. Born in Richmond, VA, Thomas attended Central Piedmont Community College where she got her Associates in Fine Arts and transferred to University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she received her Bachelor of Fine Art with a concentration in painting and art education. She lives in Concord, North Carolina, and works in Concord, NC.
