Mr. Kelly C. Smith, M.S.
I earned a Master of Science degree in Earth Sciences with an emphasis in tropical meteorology from UNC Charlotte. Additionally, I received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill. Finally, I studied Infrastructure and Environmental Systems as a Doctoral candidate, as well as Mechanical Engineering & Engineering Sciences, at UNC Charlotte and worked as an engineer and air quality specialist for several years.
For 6 years, I taught physics, environmental science, chemistry, Earth science, and biology at Mallard Creek High School. What I learned most from teaching is that relationships with students and their families are the most important part of teaching and learning. I'm excited to be at WCHS and I hope you and your family are, too!
