• How do families opt to continue learning remotely through January?

    Families will complete a survey to notify the school of their plans for 2nd quarter.

     

    What is the mask policy going to be under Plan B? 

    All students and staff must wear a mask.  

     

    What is the process if a student isn’t wearing a mask? 

    Discipline consequences will be enforced.  Students repeatedly not wearing mask will be unable to return to the building.  

     

    What is the process if a student arrives at school with symptoms of illness? 

    The student will be sent home immediately.  If symptoms develop during the day, the student will be in an isolation room until a parent picks him/her up.

     

    What is the process when someone tests positive?

    Students who test positive should contact the school nurse, Mrs Fisher at suzanne.fisher@cabarrus.k12.nc.us.

     

    Will families be notified if someone tests positive at the school or in one of their kids classes? 

    We will follow all Cabarrus Health Alliance recommendations and guidelines.

     

    Is anything different with the cafeteria? 

    No students will eat lunch in the cafeteria.  Students will eat lunch in the classroom.

     

    Is busing still available if students haven’t set that up?

    Yes, busing will be available.  Email Judy Ackett at judy.ackett@cabarrus.k12.nc.us. or Janice Witherspoon at  janice.witherspoon@cabarrus.k12.nc.us to sign up for transportation.

    When will seniors be able to take Senior Pictures on campus?

    While we are on Plan C, students cannot come on campus to take senior pictures.  At this time students can go to the Cady Studio in Charlotte for pictures.  Our plan is to offer these on campus at a later time.  

     

    How is attendance on Friday taken and recorded?

    Students who log into Canvas on Friday or students who complete the given assignment before Friday, will be counted present.  Teachers mark attendance before their day ends at 2:30 pm.  If a student completes the assignment after this time, but before 11:59 pm on Friday, the attendance will be changed Monday morning.

     

    Why did I receive a Connect-Ed call that my student was absent on Friday?

    Teachers work until 2:30 on Friday and must mark attendance before they leave.  Some students may log into Canvas after the teacher has checked attendance so they are  marked absent until the teacher checks again on Monday. PowerSchool will be updated each Monday.   Student work must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Friday for the student to be counted present.

     

    What if my student is sick on Friday (or any other day)?

    If a student is sick on a Friday (or for that matter any other day), he/she should  email a note to Ms Rodriguez (rina.rodriguez@cabarrus.k12.nc.us) and should email his/her teachers.  The student will be counted absent that day, but can make up the work and will receive the grade, just as he/she would if we were in the building.  

     

    How much work should my student expect on Friday?

    Typically you should expect about 30 minutes of work for yearlong classes and about one hour of work for semester classes.  This should make the total workload on Friday about 4 hours.  That being said, there could be long term work, assignments from other days, etc. that a student has to complete on Friday.  It will also vary based on the work-speed of the student.

      

    How do I purchase a student parking pass?

    Student parking passes can be purchased online. First, you will need to fill out the Student Parking Form located on our homepage. You can then pay the appropriate fee (General Parking for $25 or Reserved for $40) on the K12 Payment Center. There is also a link for the payment center on our homepage. You can pick up your pass on Monday (9/28) from 2-3pm. We will have other times available in the future for you to get your pass. It should be noted that you will need a valid driver's license and cannot have any outstanding school fees to receive your pass. Reserved spots are only available to Seniors. Seniors need to complete the Senior Spot Design Form and present it to Administration when picking up their pass before they can paint their spot.     What is my computer log in/username and password?

    Usually, with no spaces, first initial lastname and last 4 of your student id number. Your password is your student id number.  

     

    How do I access my school email?

    There is a link on the CHS website under important links that says "access student email".  Click this and then enter your email address.  You may be prompted to enter your username and password also.  If you need further assistance, try this video.

     

    I do not know where to go or what to do to start this school year. Where can I get help?

    • Check the sections on the website with Help Videos, Help Step by Step Directions, and information letters. There are several videos with step by step help.

    • Contact your teacher if you still are confused about what to do.

    • Call the Concord High School "Hot Line" for additional help.

    I can't log into the Cabarrus County Schools Scribble Online Forms website. What should I do?

    Parents should use their email address as the login for the site if they already have an account. Parents are able to troubleshoot using the “Forgot Password” button or reach out to Scribbles for technical support (Email: help@scribsoft.com, Phone: 855-465-1458).

     

    I feel like I never know what's going on at the school? How do I get information?

    A great starting point is to start receiving the weekly newsletters that are emailed.  These are posted on the CHS website. You can update your email address here and will begin receiving this letter weekly.
