Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Logan Smith
Hello, My name is Logan Smith. It is a delight to be teaching your student this semester. I taught in Gaston County Schools from 2015-2020. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in History with minors in American Studies, Political Science, and Secondary Education. At present, I am pursuing a Masters of Art degree at Louisiana State University in Higher Education Administration. I was the recipient of the Teaching Excellence Scholarship at the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant in June 2017, and a nominee for 2017-2018 New Teacher of the year at my first school. Outside of school, you can find me volunteering with various nonprofits, especially those focused on mental wellbeing and suicide prevention. Community action is one of the best ways to see the changes we hope for in the society we live in. It is my goal as an educator to teach my students our curriculum, but to also help shape them as well-rounded individuals. I hope to have a sense of community in our classroom, and encourage them acadeically, as well as in their extra-curriculars. Volunteerism is a part of civic engagement and I love to encourage this with students as volunteerism and how to connect others with their passions through volunteerism was my social impact initiative while participating in scholarship organizations during my younger years.
