Hello! I am so excited to be here at W.M. Irvin Elementary School!
I am the school counselor for grades three, four and five. I have a Bachelor of Music Education degree from The University of Akron and a Master of Counseling from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have a Graduate Certification from the International Institute for Restorative Practices and am a licensed Restorative Practices Trainer and Facilitator.
I have been trained by Mindful Schools to teach Mindfulness to young people grades K-12 and have been personally practicing mindfulness for over nine years. I am currently learning more about Trauma-Informed Mindfulness practices with the work of Dr. David Treleaven. I have a special interest and training in Adverse Childhood Experiences and Developmental Trauma and Resilience.
I am married and have three amazing sons and am 'mom' to Harry the horse, one lone chicken and my beloved newfoundland Kodiak. In my spare time I love to read, knit, hike, bike and kayak.
