Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Jena Leide

My name is Jena Leide. This is my 2nd year at Northwest Cabarrus Middle, and I am SO EXCITED to have to opportunity to be your Language Arts teacher this year!

I know this year is going to be a crazy one, as we start remote and hopefully move to in-person learning. This year, even more than previous years will be one where communication is SO incredibly important. As a team, we want to make sure you have access to what you need at any point, so we have created a team website that should be parent's and student's one-stop shop for all this information.

Feel free to bookmark it, as we will be adding to it regularly. We will even be sharing it out in the emails we send to you.

4th and 6th Period: CLICK HERE to access my Week at a Glance!

5th Period: CLICK HERE to access my Week at a Glance!

This will provide you with an idea of what will be covered each week during Plan B.

As we start remote learning next week, here are a few things you will need to know for my class:

1. Assignments will be posted in Canvas (link coming soon!)

2. We will be using Microsoft Teams to communicate throughout the week and for synchronous learning. You can find a schedule of "live" learning times on our team website. It should have also been in the packet you picked up with your Chromebook at school. (If you need to know how to access this, there is a link on our team site. If you don't see anything in Teams quite yet, don't worry...we are still setting them up. They'll be ready to go by the first day of school for sure!)

3. GRACE AND GRATITUDE: Entirely remote learning (although we did practice it a bit last year), will look completely different this year. We are learning how to do this just as you all are, so I am SURE there will be hiccups along the way. Please be patient with me while I am learning a completely new way of teaching, and I will absolutely do the same for you. It's going to be a crazy year, but I am 100% sure it will be a good one if we can show each other grace as we learn and just appreciate the proccess and the work that we (students and teachers) are putting in to navigate something new.

Please know that I will be posting more as I work through setting up Canvas and learning what the first week will look like. I am looking forward to meeting you!
