Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jena Leide
My name is Jena Leide and I am SO EXCITED to be teaching 7th Grade Language Arts at Northwest Cabarrus Middle this year!
As we start remote learning next week, here are a few things you will need to know for my class:
1. Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. (CLICK HERE to learn how to access Google Classroom from home!)
2. We will be using Microsoft Teams to communicate throughout the week. Teams can be used to contact me directly and instantly. It will also be used for office hours and to hold "live" classroom discussions. (CLICK HERE to learn how to access Microsoft Teams from home!)
3. Assignments (along with recorded directions as needed) will be posted daily at the beginning of the day (between 9-9:30 AM). You can work on assignments whenever you would like throughout the day; however, I will have live office hours during your class period on Tuesday and Thursdays. Office hours will be done through a video chat in Microsoft Teams. When I am live for office hours, you will see the meeting and be able to click join. You are welcome to join with or without video, just please make sure your microphone is muted before joining.
Woah! Why can't I use my Google Email anymore?!
Google email has been deactivated. You CAN still use Google Drive and classroom, just not the email piece. You should be using your MICROSOFT email. You access that the SAME way you access Microsoft Teams; you just click on "Outlook" instead of "Teams." That email address is however you login to your account normally at school followed by @cabarrus.k12.nc.us (just like mine)!
Tuesdays and Thursdays
1st Period: 10-10:20 AM
2nd Period: 10:30-10:50 AM
5th Period: 2:30-2:50 PM
6th Period: 3-3:20 PM
How can I be contacted outside of office hours?
Of course, I'm available to answer questions and help you out outside of official "office hours." You can always contact me through email (email@example.com) OR you're welcome to reach out through a direct message on Microsoft Teams (that's what I think is easiest, as it's just like a direct message chat)!
