  • It was nice to see so many parents and students at the open house on Wednesday.  If you could not make it, I look forward to meeting you soon.

Materials that you will want to have ASAP:

    • 2 composition notebooks
    • blue pen, black pen, and pencil
    • earbuds for the Chromebooks
    • a pocket folder or prong folder

You may like to have the following:

    • your own colored pencils
    • your own glue or tape and scissors
    • two colors of highlighter

    Parents ask about a wishlist:

    • Any of the above materials for a student who can't get the materials themselves
    • Hand soap
    • Tissue
    • Small gift cards to a pet store like Pet'Smart or Pet Co (crickets and frozen mice as well as fish tank supplies)

Mrs. Karen Booker

Here is a bit about what you will need to know for class and a little about me via a presentation: Click here.

This is my first year at Central Cabarrus and I have been teaching in North Carolina since 1996.  With a new degree in Biology, a new teaching certification, and just married, I moved to Charlotte to start my teaching career.  I have taught at a wide range of schools and a wide range of subjects, but biology is my passion and I am happy to be at Central.

Kate and Ellie are my two girls who are in high school and middle school respectively.  They attend Cannon School where their father is the Dean of Students.

I enjoy learning or trying new things.  Currently, I am learning about making online computer simulations for biology and practicing Jiu-Jitsu. I enjoy gardening and believe if you are not killing some of your plants you are not stretching yourself in your learning.
