Mr. Doc Wells
Hello Patriots! This is my second year at Harris Road Middle School but my 29th year overall. I grew up in a military family and have lived in various places in the United States and overseas. After my father retired from the military, we settled in Ohio (yes, I am a Buckeye!) but earned my Bachelor's Degree from Marshall University in 1992. I spent my first year teaching in Huntington, W.Va. I came to North Carolina in 1993 and taught at J.N. Fries Middle School in 1993. I've had the honor in teaching at several schools in Cabarrus County and also coaching track & field at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (1998-2002). I moved to Destin, Florida in 2005 and returned to NC teaching in Guilford County from 2006-2008. I taught at Hickory Ridge High School from 2008-2013, Winkler Middle School 2013-2014 and Mount Pleasant High School 2014-2019. During my time as an educator, I obtained my Master's Degree in Executive Leadership at Gardner Webb University. I very much enjoy teaching Social Studies. I have taught every grade level from 6th-12th grade as well as coaching football, track & field, cross country and golf during my time as an educator. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, playing golf, traveling and boating on Lake Norman, which is where I live. My wife, Elizabeth, is a former educator and currently works as a Financial Services Represenative at NCSECU. My son, Brandon, is 28 years old and currently lives and works in Greensboro, NC.
