Mrs. Myra Morgan
We are in uncharted territory with school closures related to the Corona Virus. I have linked some resources that can help with the stress and anxiety children and parents are feeling.
Parents, please look at the link below under my book list to read a new publication published by The American School Counselor Association. Also, please go to the Interesting Web Resources for a list of articles for parents during Covid-19.
I have been a counselor for over 20 years and feel so lucky to be back in Midland where my children and husband's family went to school. I have two children, Meredith and Ted (Cameron) who are both married. They were students in the historic building where Bethel School began. I have 4 amazing grandchildren. Being a Grammy is so much fun and I "try" to not spoil them. I am a huge Atlanta Braves fan and call the members on the team "my boys." Sitting in the stadium watching the Braves play is my favorite pastime in the summer. I like to read mystery books, sew, and paint furniture in the farmhouse style.
I offer individual counseling, group counseling, and small support groups. A parent, teacher, administrator, or student can request counseling. I have experience in Play Therapy and use those resources in my counseling office.
Also, I teach all of the grades and classes in Guidance to promote seamless K-5 experiences. I love to teach Guidance and not only do I want my students learn but to also have fun in the process. We typically work in four stations, a hands-on activity, a reading center, a game station(related to the subject and usually made by me), and a writing center. In the writing center students will either write a song, puppet play, newcast, or answer questions with them competing for points on a spinning wheel. I have accumulated lots of puppets and musical instruments over the years to use in the writing center.
I co-lead the PBIS Committee, am a member of the Mental Health Team, and a member of the Resiliency Leadership team. You will find me each morning opening doors in the car rider line.
Go Bethel Bengals!!
