I was born in Florida but lived many places while growing up because my father was in the Coast Guard and Air Force.  Just between Kindergarten and High School, I lived in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia and The United Kingdom.  Some of those places twice!!

After High School, I earned both my Associate of Arts Degree and my Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Valdosta State University.  I was not sure what I wanted to be "when I grew up" so I continued my education at Florida State University and earned my Master of Science Degree in Criminology.

After graduation from FSU, I decided to follow in my father's footsteps and joined the Air Force.  I was an Instructor Navigator on the KC-135R, Air Refueling Aircraft.  My time in the service took me to Texas, Oklahoma, the United Kingdom once more, and Florida.  My flying took me almost aroundthe world.  I have been as far "west" as Wake Island in the Pacific Ocean and as far "east" as Afghanistan.  I retired in 2005 and decided to continue my role as an educator and went to school to earn my teaching license.  I graduated from UNCC in 2008 and took my first teaching position within Kannapolis City Schools.  The following year, after staying on at UNCC, I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching.

I have taught science for 10 years and math for 6.  I have taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  I love Middle School and especially the students!!  They are the absolute best and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

Personally, I love to travel and dream of new places to visit.  I enjoy DIY and am always thinking up and completing projects at home.  I love to read and find that it helps me answer questions on Jeopardy!!  I try to always smile and see the world in a positive light.
