Mrs. Amanda Cox
Welcome back students and parents, to our 2021 – 2022 school year! My name is Mrs. Amanda Cox and I will be teaching English/Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies to 8th graders this year. This is my third year at Concord Middle School. This is my fourth-year teaching overall, and I spent my first-year teaching English I at Concord High School.
I am originally from Concord, North Carolina and Cabarrus County. I attended Wolf Meadow Elementary School, JN Fries Middle School, and Jay M. Robinson High School. I did my undergraduate studies at Appalachian State University and University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English with two minors in Children’s Literature and Childhood Studies and American Studies. I also have a Masters of Education from UNCC.
When I am not in my teacher or student role, I spend time with my husband and our two dogs, Koko, who is a Black Labrador-Australian Shepherd mix, and Dixie, who is a Blue Tick Coonhound. We like to travel and go camping. I am also a diehard sports fan. Go Dodgers, Rams, UCLA, and Lakers!!!
I am excited about this school year and all of the exciting things I have planned for my students. I am also looking forward to the wonderful experiences everyone will have as you all prepare to transition to high school freshman!
