Coltrane-Webb is excited to offer Coding Clubs to our students throughout the year! The Fall & Spring Clubs are for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students and the End of Year Club is a 2nd Graders ONLY Club! We use a variety of programs that help us to learn the basics to intermediate levels of coding. Club Members create digital stories by coding sounds, animation, texts and put it all together for an amazing final product. They also dabble with coding other devices like micro:bits, Makey-Makeys, and any of our many robots.
Here are some more highlights:
- Because of the high interest, we will use a lottery system to select 22-club members - Those selected will be notified.
- Club members must attend and be on time to all Club meetings, which are held on Wednesdays at 7:15AM
- Students must exhibit exemplary character and collaboration skills
- A $20 fee is collected for the Fall & Spring Clubs and a $10 fee is collected for the End of Year Club. This fee covers the cost of a club t-shirt & any needed software. (Scholarships are available).
Information for the Fall Coding Club will be heading home in backpacks at the end of September!
