Mrs. Miranda Stephenson
Hello! I have had the privilege of being an elementary school counselor in North Carolina since 2016 and love working for Cabarrus County Schools.
My direct student services include teaching weekly Wellness Wednesday Social Emotional Learning Lessons to all K-5 classrooms with my other student services colleagues (virtual format during Plan B), facilitating small groups for some sudents, and individually counseling a few students. My indirect student services include referrals, consultation, and collaboration.
I grew up in both Florida and Minnesota and love that I now call North Carolina my home. I earned a double major in Family and Child Sciences and Psychology from Florida State University. I then earned graduate degrees in School Counseling and Education Specialist from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Additionally, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor.
I live in Mooresville with my husband, Brian, a robotics engineer. He is a major fan of our STEM program at BHES! We love to hike in the mountains, ride our bikes, and host our friends and family for game nights and dinner parties.
Caring for children's mental and emotional health is what I love to do. I am here to help your student become his or her best and look forward to working with you. We are going to have a wonderful year!
