Hi! My name is Vanessa Venable, I graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelors of Fine Arts concentrated in Art Education, and also from the University of Florida with a Masters in Art Education. Most of my studio studies were conducted in photography, and digital media. In my teaching, I do my best to incorporate digital technologies and tools to develop 21st-century skills as well as creative thinking. Currently, I am teaching art I, art II , digital media, and I am facilitating the Art Club and National Art Honors Society.
I have worked with the Mint Museum of Art facilitating their summer camp program, and also as a Special Events Coordinator helping to organize the NexGen teen outreach program. I have taugh art at the Levine Childrens Hospital in Charlotte through the Arts for Life program which provided creative outlets for the patients and families during their hospital stay. I have also taught english to developing communities in Cusco, Peru.
