My name is Krista Johnston and I am an Exceptional Children's teacher here at W.M. Irvin Elementary School. I am married to my husband Brennen and we have two wonderful dogs. I moved from Colorado in March of 2017, and have been at Irvin ever since! I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Special Education from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. Currently I am pursuing my Masters of Educational Leadership from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina. I truly love coming to school each day to teach the wonderful students here at Irvin. Every day is always an adventure, and my students always seem to amaze me. They truly make this career the best one I could have chosen. I look forward to the academic success we will have this school year!
Teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility and I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience in this upcoming year. However, I cannot do this without the help of you, the parents. We are partners in the learning process.
I believe that parent-teacher relationships are necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate through telephone calls, emails, progress reports and IEP meetings. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions for concerns at any time. You can call me at the school, send me a written note or contact me via email at Krista.Johnston@cabarrus.k12.nc.us
