Degrees and Certifications:

Krista Benson

I am honored and excited to be working with your student in EC resource this year! This is my fourth year at Cox Mill Elementary and my twenty-fourth year of teaching. Before coming to Cox Mill, I spent eight years at Enochville Elementary in Rowan County and taught in my small hometown of Circleville, Ohio, for many years before that. I received my bachelor’s degree in special education from Milligan University and my master’s degree in curriculum, instruction, and assessment from Walden University.  I am married to Steve, who owns a counseling practice.  We have a six-year old daughter named Zoe (a first grader at Cox Mill this year) and four-year old son named Christopher.  We also have a hyper but loving collie puppy named Brody.

I look forward to getting to know your child better during this very unique and historical year as well as working with you, more closely than ever, to help your student build confidence and achieve success. Please feel free to contact me at with any suggestions or concerns or just to check in.  If your student is enrolled in my Canvas course, you can click here to go to my Canvas page.  Many challenges and unknowns might lie ahead but please know that I am here for you and that we are in this together!

Here’s to a fun and growth-filled 2020-2021 school year!
