Degrees and Certifications:

Krista Benson

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!  I am honored and excited to be working with your student in EC resource this year.  To tell you a little about me, this is my fifth year at Cox Mill Elementary and my twenty-fifth year of teaching overall. Before coming to Cox Mill, I spent eight years at Enochville Elementary in Rowan County and taught in my small hometown of Circleville, Ohio, for many years before that. I received my bachelor’s degree in special education from Milligan College and my master’s degree in curriculum, instruction, and assessment from Walden University. I also hold thirty hours of graduate credit past my master’s degree in special education.  I am married to Steve, who owns a counseling practice.  We have a daughter, Zoe, who is in second grade at Cox Mill, and a son, Christopher, who is in kindergarten at Cox Mill.  We also have an energetic two-year-old collie, Brody, who keeps us on our toes.

I look forward to getting to know your child better this year as well as working closely with you to help your student build confidence and achieve success.  Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions or concerns or just to check in at (this email) or 704-260-6170.    You can also find additional information on my teacher web page through the school web site.

Here’s to an awesome year full of fun and growth!
