I am so excited to get to know all of my new sixth graders and families!
This is my second year at JN Fries and in North Carolina. I recently moved here from Cleveland, Ohio where I taught for six years after earning my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Kent State University. I also attended John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio to extend my teaching licensure to middle school ELA. I have two adorable -- yet hairy -- Shih-Tzu pups, Sam and Arthur. I love the outdoors, exploring new places, crossword puzzles, reading (duh!), nature, animals, repurposing old materials (my TV stand is a dresser I bought at a garage sale), pizza, potatoes, pasta, naps, movies, listening to records and music in general, conservation, and making informed choices as a consumer.
You can keep in touch with what is going on in your student's classes my checking the team's daily-updated Homework Board (linked below), nightly checking your student's Agenda, signing up for Remind 101 (sign-up info below), and checking Google Classroom (I use this almost every day in my class).
If you need to get in touch with me, email is usually the best option. I also check Remind quite often. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or contact me with concerns. I look forward to working alongside you this year.
Ms. Correne Ferry

Digital Corrections Submission Form: Use this form to tell me which digital (Google Classroom) assignments you have made corrections on. Otherwise, I will not know what needs to be looked at. Thank you!
Remind Sign-Up: Text @fmstt to 81010 | send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Planning Time: M-F 9:20-10:40 (I have meetings during my planning on Mondays and Thursdays. Wednesday planning time will be shortened once Clubs begin for the year.)
Box Tops Collection: We still collect Box Tops at the middle school level! Please save your Box Tops to earn money/credit for JN Fries. You can have your student bring them in to their homeroom teacher. I have a little bucket by my door for collection. If you have your student turn them into the Box Tops mailbox by the front office, please be sure to put the homeroom teacher's name on the bag so that the homeroom can get credit for the collection. Quarterly rewards are given to the homeroom that collects the most! My class won third quarter last year, so let's keep it going!
