This section includes information regarding parent concerns, policies and procedures, and other useful information. Cabarrus County Schools is committed to providing an effective means for parents and the community to voice concerns. In most circumstances, concerns should be addressed at the lowest possible level.

Policy 1742/5060 Responding to Complaints,identifies these different processes and provides a mechanism for resolving concerns in an informal manner. Students and parents/guardians should first address their concerns with the appropriate teacher, principal, or building administrator.

The School Relations Office is available to assist in the process of resolving concerns not successfully resolved at the school level. For assistance with a parent concern, contact Sue Burns at 704-262-6115.

Grievance Information
While the board encourages informal resolutions, the board recognizes that students and parents may want a more formal process for certain types of complaints or if an informal process was not satisfactory. Policy 1740/4010/5001 Student and Parent Grievance Procedure provides a grievance procedure that can be used as described in the Student and Parent Grievance Procedure Flowchart below.
