Hello! I hope that you had a nice weekend. The sun finally came out.

I can't believe that we are so close to the end of this school year. It is amazing how things have changed since the beginning of this year.

I am so proud of all your growth and accomplishments this year. I see so much potential in all of you. I wish that I had been able to see you at the 8th Grade Celebration and Dance and end the year in NCMS style.

This will be a year that none of us will ever forget. I can appreciate that as a Social Studies teacher, but know that it hurts in the here and now. I will miss each and everyone of you and I hope that you know how much I love you.

Congratulations 8th grade class of 2020! I will not forget you! Good luck in everything that you do!

Hello! I hope that everyone is doing well and had a great weekend. This week in Social Studies we'll be exploring the Roaring 20s and Great Depression time periods. I am including the link to my agenda here so that parents/guardians can keep up with your child's assignments and the videos that I make each week. The students will need to log in to Google Classroom in order to complete the assignment.

I hope that you have a wonderful week!

  • Good afternoon!
I hope that everyone is doing well! I am so excited to see you all again next week.

This week make sure that you can get into Google Classroom remember to log-in using your "username" and your password.
The other thing that you need to make sure that you can access is your school email in Microsoft Office 365. That is located under Quick Links on the left hand side of the NCMS website. This will ask you to log-in as well, which is your "username" and your password.
You will have an email from me already about my office hours starting next week on Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon. These are not required, but if you have a question or need me, I will be available during those times.

Make sure that you are checking out Mrs. Browning and Mr. Thomas websites so that you have access to their new Google Classrooms.

I miss you all and I cannot wait to chat and see you again!

  • Hello! I hope that everyone is doing well and staying busy.

I am currently still working on some grades that I will add to 3rd quarter. You may use this week to complete the redo for the Civil War Test as well as extra credit for low grades.

The county has review materials in the folder under the “Extended Home Learning” tab for you to work on this week. I hope that you are challenging yourself and pushing yourself to try these activities.

I miss you all so much and I would much rather be seeing you in the classroom then posting this online and I hope to be seeing you all soon.

  • Good morning! I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe during this unusual time.
I wanted to take a minute and let you know what is going on with my assignments. I have the Civil War test Redo opportunity still available for those that would like to take advantage of that. The test is available in Mastery Connect and the redo opportunity is here in Google Classroom (submit to Google Classroom when finished).
The BrainPOP activities that I assigned on Friday can be completed for extra credit as well as the Extended Home Learning activity that is available from the district.
Again, I hope that you are staying healthy and safe during this time. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
Thank you for your patience! You are the "primary sources" of this time.
    Mrs. Matthews
