Supporting Emotional Health and Well-Being

Financial support for this series of parent engagement sessions is funded through the generous support of Concord ABC Board as part of our shared effort to educate students and families on adaptive coping skills to decrease the use of alcohol and other illicit substances. Emotional dysregulation is understood to be a factor in substance abuse and the development of resilience skills discussed in these intervention may help promote resistance skills and prevent drug and alcohol abuse. These skill building sessions serve as drug and alcohol abuse prevention education activities.

Programs for Parents and Family Members

Listening Circles: For parents who need to feel heard and understood, these 60-minute group sessions for practicing resiliency tools. While these sessions are not a replacement for therapy, they are led by a certified Resiliency Educator who is also a licensed mental health clinician.
These sessions will be offered in English and Spanish.

RECONNECT Introduction: These sessions provide an overview of the coping and resiliency strategies many Cabarrus County Schools staff are using to support the emotional health and well-being of our children. Classes are held on two evenings during a week for a total of four hours of skill building for families.
