  • COVID-19 Rapid Testing Pilot

Letter C abarrus Health Alliance (CHA), Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) and Kannapolis City Schools (KCS) are participating in the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) COVID-19 Rapid Testing Pilot. CCS is one of 17 public school districts and 11 charter schools selected to receive the rapid tests in the first phase of the program. Six schools within the district have been identified and have received rapid antigen tests, which will be used for students and staff with COVID-19 symptoms or those who are close contacts of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

The goal of the rapid testing pilot program is to slow the spread of COVID-19 by quickly identifying students and staff who may have the virus, especially after the holiday season. Students and staff who qualify for testing may be identified through screening upon arrival to school or by calling and reporting symptoms to the school nurse.

COVID-19 Rapid Testing Pilot launches February 1, 2021.
