HRHS Social and Emotional Learning
Introduction for Families
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Cabarrus County Schools has adopted a Social Emotional Learning initiative for all students with the goal of teaching strategies to help student develop social and emotional skills. Each week students will receive a brief educational lesson on social/emotional skills, such as healthy coping skills, goal setting, and emotion management. While under Plan C these lessons will be delivered virtually through the HRHS Student Services Canvas Course.
