Mrs. Emily Zelando
Hello! I am Emily Zelando, the Assistant Principal at Charles E Boger Elementary School. I am so excited to start another school year at Boger. I am a Beacon at heart. I have been at Boger since the day we opened the doors. Both of my children (Ty – 19 and Julia – 16) were also Beacons. This is my twenty fifth year in education and in Cabarrus County. I have a teaching degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Kent State University. I am National Board certified and I have a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have been a Deaf Ed teacher in the county, and I have also taught second grade at Wolf Meadow and Cox Mill Elementary. Then, I started the AIG program at Charles E Boger Elementary. During my teaching career here, I had the opportunity to go back to school to attain my Administration license at Wingate University.
I am so blessed to be a part of the Beacon family and to support students and teachers every day. I do believe that all students can learn. The key is building relationships, making learning relevant and engaging, and identifying the ways that students learn best so that they are able to achieve academic success! I am very passionate about helping students grow socially and academically. I also want students to believe in themselves, have confidence, and understand that they can achieve anything if they persevere and try to be the best that they can be! I love being in this role and making a difference…one day at a time.
Please let me know how I can help your child have the best year ever at Charles E Boger Elementary school!
We are Boger Beacons! Keep shining bright!
