    • The Importance of Reading Aloud to Big Kids

This article explores all the benefits of reading aloud to our older students.  There are many benefits for older students, not just younger students in having adults read aloud to them.  I find, in the classroom, that even my struggling students who say they don't enjoy reading will engage in a good story and they can hardly wait for me to read again, so they can find out what will happen next.  If we want our students to read for themselves as adults, let's model how interesting and exciting reading can be.
