Degrees and Certifications:
CTE Family & Consumer Science Teacher
Mrs. Teresa Porter
I was born in North Carolina and I am a product of the Cabarrus County School System. While my children were in their early adolescent years I decided to go back to college. After working in the office at NCHS for several years, I knew I wanted to move into the classroom. I love being around the students and helping them grow into successful young adults so I went to grad school in order to teach. I have a BA in Health Education from Ashford University and a Graduate Certificate in Middle and Secondary Education with a focus in Family and Consumer Science from Appalachian State University. I am currently in a Masters program at UNCC. My goal is to be a positive role model in the lives of my students and to partner with them in becoming the best adults possible. I also coach JV basketball here at Northwest and I am the Graduation Coordinator.
