HRHS Athletic Training

Athletic Participation

  • Why do I need a "yellow card" to tryout or practice?

To avoid lost paperwork and confusion, your child will need a yellow card (also known as a "ticket to practice") before they are allowed to participate for each sport.  This system is managed by the Athletic Training Staff and ensures all proper paperwork has been completed before your child can participate for any team.  It also allows our coaches to coach and not be bogged down in paperwork.

They do not need a yellow card for winter/spring workouts or skill development, only a current physical on file.  We have received all the files from the Hickory Ridge Middle School, including their physicals.

If you child does not participate in a fall sport, they do not need to get a yellow card at this time.  They will pick up their yellow card a few weeks prior to the official start of their season:  Winter 10/30/19, Spring 2/12/20.

For yellow card questions, please email denette.carte@cabarrus.k12.nc.us or shatt.vang@carolinashealthcare.org
