Melissa Mascari, M.A., NCSP
I am a nationally certified school psychologist who serves R. Brown McAllister Elementary School (Tu/Wed), Concord Middle School (Mon/Thu/Fri), and I help with preschool evaluations at Mary Frances Wall Center. This is my third year in Cabarrus County Schools and my 11th year as a fully licensed school psychologist. The best part of my job is seeing students meet or exceed their goals! I also volunteer with Concord Middle School's track team. I am proud to say that I provide comprehensive psychological services at my schools which include:
* Conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations for students in the Exceptional Children's program
* Participating in crisis/safety teams at my schools and assisting in crisis response across the district
* Providing individual and group counseling for students
* Participating in school-wide leadership teams, using school academic and behavioral data to create and evaluate appropriate supplemental and intensive supports for students at risk
* Collaborating with other school-based mental health professionals (counselors, social workers, nurses, school-based therapists) to meet students' mental health needs
* Providing workshops for parents and/or teachers
I am originally from Massachusetts, but after attending college in NC, I became a resident and never moved back home! In my free time, I enjoy camping with my family, playing with my two dogs, and catching up with friends and family.
