Girls on the Run

  • WHAT?

Girls on the Run: Simple, engaging and extraordinary. The result? Healthy, confident girls who can.

Girls on the Run (GOTR) arrives February 12 at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School. We inspire girls in 3rd-5th grade to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. This season we will practice on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and culminate with a 5K (3.1 mile run).

We meet in the library after school and do our workouts outside.  We meet RAIN OR SHINE!

Girls on the Run is SO MUCH FUN!

Girls on the Run engages in a lottery-based online registration process to ensure a fair and equal process for all girls. Please go to to sign your girl up for our team between January 15 - 31. Girl Placement Day will occur on Thursday, February 1. On Girl Placement Day, if we have less than the maximum amount of girls, all girls will be placed on the team. If there are more girls than spots on the team, the system will randomly select the maximum amount of girls.

The program fee is $170. In an effort to make Girls on the Run accessible to all families, the payment structure is aligned with free and reduced lunch benefits and there is the ability to create a payment plan.

    • Families eligible for free lunch or income under $25,000 will have a program fee of $20.
    • Families eligible for reduced lunch or income between $25,000-$50,000 will have a program fee of $60.
