• A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent  01/10/2017

    Superintendent Lowder Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing winter break.

Winter weather and dangerous driving conditions caused us to cancel school on Jan. 9th and 10th. No make-up day will be required for Jan. 9th, but the make-up day for Jan. 10th will be Jan. 23rd. Please make sure you know where to go to find official information from our district about any school closings or delays. You can review our winter weather procedures here.

The winter weather also is causing us to adjust our high exam schedule. Our high school students now will begin taking their final exams on Tuesday, Jan. 17th and finish up on Friday, Jan. 20th. On their exam days, they will be dismissed early from school. Additionally, all students will be dismissed early on Monday, Jan. 23rd. You can find information about the exam schedule and early dismissals on our website.

We’re celebrating our school board members this month as we recognize School Board Appreciation Month. Cabarrus County Schools is grateful to our Board of Education members for their service to our students and our system. Our board members are active, involved citizens who voluntarily give up their personal time to support our students,  staff, and system. We appreciate their commitment and thank them for their dedication.

Make sure you have these important dates on your calendar:
    • Jan. 11th – District Spelling Bee at Winkler Middle School
    • Jan. 16th – Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
    • Jan. 23rd – Make-up Day for Missed Day on Jan. 10th
    • Jan. 26th – Financial Aid Night at CMC Northeast Hamrick Theatre and Roper Commons

    Until next time,

    Chris
    Christopher Lowder, Ed.D.
